Rainbow Trout Everywhere !!!

The Pandemic didn't stop this years Casting For Recovery Retreats at the North Fork Ranch.
They had 2 very successful retreats with 12 participants each.

Casting for Recovery sponsors fly fishing retreats for breast cancer survivors...the weekend is free of charge to the participants and a unique opportunity to bond with women who all have experienced breast cancer.
They spend the weekend learning the art of fly fishing by tying their own flies, which many land trout with.
They spend time learning to cast a fly rod and then...... Sunday is the test !!!
They get out on prime Colorado water...the North Fork of the South Platte @ the North Fork Ranch on Highway 285, near Bailey.
A testament to the amazing guides who volunteer their time is the ability that these women have to properly set the hook and reel in a very large trout !! The participants also get a chunk of credit for being good listeners, patient & can quickly apply what they are taught.
In the end, this group of women is in an enviable situation by even the best angler out there !! It's impressive to see the beautiful 18+ inch trout that are filling the nets of the guides.
It's lots of fun to witness the awe on their faces
& hugs after a successful catch
This year, a rare palomino trout was landed, along with many more beautiful rainbows & browns

Hats That Heal provides hand made knitted hats to each participant. The hats are custom made and each hat is fleece lined to provide the maximum warmth and a soft fabric for those with hair loss due to chemotherapy.
