More Hats to Give

After a brisk start to the morning, a couple of weekends ago, the Casting for Recovery retreat participants warmed up quickly to

fly fishing.

The Fall leaves have another week or so to remind us how beautiful Colorado is and the North Fork Ranch was beaming with frost and color.

The first task, to meet your guide, was welcomed with hugs and excitement...

(and by the way, these men and women are the most patient, exuberant and caring teachers/friends out there)

LET THE FISHING BEGIN....

First fish of the day was immediately caught within minutes of her first cast. Perfect cast, drift, hook set and landing!

As the morning progressed, more "hoops and hollers" indicated when another fish was caught.

And the Rest of the day is History...

More great casting and more big smiles

as beautiful rainbows were proudly held

for photos before releasing them

back to where they belong.

And by the end of the day, there was shock, excitement and awe of what each woman had accomplished.

Not sure that words can top this photo...

it captures my thoughts and admiration for what Casting for Recovery

does for their participants.

The retreats are a unique experience and are open to women of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery.

They are free of charge and free of the stresses from medical treatment, home, or workplace – to experience something new and challenging in a beautiful, safe environment.

Application information can be found at www.castingforrecovery.org

Hat's That Heal is a proud sponsor of Casting for Recovery by providing each participant with a hand knit hat
